Formally as DPN, and now as an independent company, have been involved with the computerisation of golf tour management operations since 1987 when, and working closely with the Professional Golfers' Association, assistance provided by the Professional Golfers' Association in developing the initial software suite, the PGA Tour of Australasia new Tour Management system, the Ladies European Tour beta testing of the new system, and the Ladies Golf Union for their advice and input in adapting the system for amateur golf events. The EGCOA supports the owners by spreading and sharing knowledge. The EGCOA was established in 2004 and is headquartered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The not-for-profit organisation now represents owners associations from 12 countries and more than 600 golf course owners in Europe.
